Due to the influence of covid19, tourists visiting Vietnam must download the PC-COVID app. So, what is the PC-COVID app? Why do I have to install it? How to install it?

PC-COVID app is an epidemic prevention application developed and put into use in late September 2021. Based on the characteristics of previous epidemic prevention applications such as Bluezone, Ncovi, and VHD, it is redesigned to be the most convenient for users.

At present, all Vietnamese have to install this app, and PC-COVID’s QR to check when you go anywhere in Vietnam. So that region is why any foreign citizen in Vietnam must download this app.

Many foreign citizens want to download this app before going to Vietnam but can’t provide a Vietnamese phone number. If you want to install the PC-COVID app, but don’t have the Vietnamese phone number or SIM card, you can fill in your email address and get an OTP (one-time-password) code to verify your account.

Although the Vietnam government needs foreigners to download the PC-COVID app, they don’t say you have to download it before you come to Vietnam, so it is recommended that you download and install the PC-COVID app when you are in Vietnam. In Vietnam, with the Vietnamese phone number, it is very convenient to download and use.

Here are the step-by-step instructions on the iPhone (I think Android users do the same):

1. In your app store, search PC-COVID to download and install.
2. Open the PC-COVID app and select the language. This app is just supported for Vietnamese or English.
3. Opening an account with a Vietnam telephone number or email:
   Here, we use my email address to activate my account (if you have a Vietnamese phone number, please use the phone number that is more convenient).
   The OTP code will be sent to an email to verify the PC covid application account. So please make sure the email is correct.
4. The pc-covid account is ready for medical declaration.
