(1)Chinese E-passports, which have “nine-dash line maps” and passport numbers that start with an “E”, are not eligible for a Vietnam e-visa. Thus, Chinese E-passport holders are advised to apply for a visa at the embassy or apply for a Visa On Arrival. However, Old type Chinese Passports with a passport number beginning with a “G” are Accepted for Vietnam e-Visa.
(2)The new version of the passport from Hong Kong (with a passport number that begins with an “H”) and Hong Kong Document of Identity for Visa Purposes (HKDI, passport number beginning with letter “D”) are not accepted for Vietnam e-visa. We hope it will be accepted soon. Now, you can apply for a Visa On Arrival or apply for a visa at the embassy.
(3)British National oversea (BNO) passport holders are not eligible for Vietnam e-visa either. You are advised to apply for a Visa On Arrival or apply for a visa at the embassy.
