2/ Passport and Vietnamese visa

To enter Vietnam, you must bring your passport, which is valid for at least 06 months after entering Vietnam.

Most foreign citizens need valid visas to come to Vietnam for any purpose. Residents of some countries that have signed visa exemption agreements with Vietnam do not need to obtain visas to Vietnam for specific purposes within a certain period. Moreover, not all travelers who need Vietnamese visas can obtain visa support upon arrival. Therefore, please make sure you need a Vietnam visa and get visa support when you arrive.

Nowadays, there are two ways to obtain a Vietnamese visa: apply for a visa at the Vietnamese embassy or apply for a landing visa after arrival. Of course, the landing visa is more convenient and time-saving, but please note that it only applies to those who travel to Vietnam by air. Applying for a Vietnamese visa online can receive an approval letter before your trip. After arriving at the airport, submit the approval letter, passport, two photos (4 * 6cm), and visa fee (US $25-50) to get a Vietnam visa stamp.

3/Vietnamese currency

The currency of Vietnam is the Vietnamese dong (VND).

The latest update of the exchange rate is: 1 USD~23500 VND

Entering Vietnam, you can exchange money at the airport or bank. Please remember, after payment, that the note you received must be intact, not torn, and too vague. In addition, with your dollars, you must make sure that there are no stains or words on them.

If you don’t like to use cash, you should exchange a little because the Vietnamese still want to use some money. Only restaurants, hotels, and modern convenience stores have POS for people who pay by card, but you must pay 3-3.5% of the bank charges to use credit cards. Visa MasterCard is the most common card in Vietnam. In Vietnam, you can’t pay with Alipay and WeChat. Please confirm with the seller whether they accept credit cards and the exchange rate they will use before purchasing or using the service.

It would be best to ask for the price before buying anything or using any service (such as taxis, street food, drinks, etc.).
