[Update October 5, 2020] When will Vietnam open? Can I enter Vietnam now?
At present, the Vietnamese border is still closed, and the government has not specified when it will open again. There is so much information recently that many tourists don’t think that information is reliable.
From July 1, 2020:
Citizens from 80 countries will be eligible to apply online for Vietnamese e-visa, also known as Vietnam e-visa. This means that citizens of these countries no longer need to go to the Vietnamese embassy for a visa. In addition to applying for a landing visa online, they can also apply for an e-visa online and wait for the visa to be sent by email.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Vietnamese border is still closed to all foreign tourists. So although the new law says that e-visa applications will begin in July, foreign tourists will have to wait for new information about the open.

Air transport activities in Vietnam and Taiwan have been resumed since August, but there is no new information on the visa issue. So Taiwan citizens should not be in a hurry. Please wait for new information.

Coronavirus pneumonia cases have been confirmed novel coronavirus pneumonia in Vietnam during the past few days, according to the report of the Vietnam National crown prevention and control committee.
Vietnamese police have arrested many foreigners who have entered Vietnam illegally, most of them Chinese. At present, the Vietnamese government is checking whether all foreign citizens in Vietnam have entered the country legally.

Flights from Vietnam to China, Japan, and South Korea will be reopened from September 15. Flights to Taiwan, Cambodia, and Laos will reopen from September 22.
In addition to diplomats and civil servants, immigration also applies to Vietnamese citizens working in countries such as Japan and South Korea who wish to return home. Foreign experts, skilled workers, investors, and key project personnel.

International routes to Guangzhou (China), Seoul (South Korea), Tokyo (Japan), Taipei (Taiwan), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), and Vientiane (Laos) have been resumed, but Vietnamese visa has not been resumed.
